地中海で海底通信ケーブル切断

現地時間19日、地中海（エジプト、イタリア間の海底周辺）で国際海底ケーブル「Sea Me We4」「Sea Me We3」「FLAG EA」が切断され、欧州〜アジア・中東方面の通信回線で大ダメージが発生しています。現在、多くの回線トラフィックは米国経由へ迂回切り替えが行われているようです。
今のところ原因は不明。

被害状況（December 19, 2008）：
– Saudi Arabia: 55% out of service
– Djibouti: 71% out of service
– Egypt: 52% out of service
– United Arab Emirates: 68% out of service
– India: 82% out of service
– Lebanon: 16% out of service
– Malaysia: 42% out of service
– Maldives: 100% out of service
– Pakistan: 51% out of service
– Qatar: 73% out of service
– Syria: 36% out of service
– Taiwan: 39% out of service
– Yemen: 38% out of service
– Zambia: 62% out of service

今年冬にもここ回線切断事故発生してたんですね。
