アイ・オー・データ機器株式会社 (I-O DATA) は10月26日、無線LANルーターを利用することなく、無線LAN製品間で直接通信を可能にする標準規格「Wi-Fi Direct」に国内初対応した無線LANアダプター「WN-AG300U」(USB接続タイプ) を発表しました。11月中旬出荷予定で、価格は5,300円。

今回発売の「WN-G300U」では、「子機モード」「Wi-Fi Direct」「XLink Kai」「ゲームコネクション」「モバイルルーター」の5つのモードをボタンひとつで切り替えできる「Wi-Fiモードチェンジャー」を搭載し、いろいろな環境でも利用できます。

GoogleのWebブラウザー「Google Chrome」 15.0.874.102（Stable channel/安定版）がリリースされました。Windows/Mac/Linux、およびChrome Frame対応。

新しいタブページ (New Tab page) が刷新され、Chrome Webアプリの置き場所をセクション分類できるようになります。

新しいタブページは、お気に入りのアプリケーションやサイトをできるだけ早く表示できるように設計されています。新しいタブページを開くには、ブラウザーウィンドウ上部の末尾のタブの横にあるアイコンをクリックします。キーボード ショートカットの Ctrl+T キー（Mac: ⌘-T）を使ってページを開くこともできます。

また、Chrome Web Store デザイン改善や、以下のセキュリティ脆弱性が修正されています。

The bugs [94487], [96292], [96902], [97599], [98064], [98556], [99294], [100059], [99138] and [99211] were detected using AddressSanitizer.

Although Chrome is not directly affected by the attack, the NSS network library was updated to include a defense against so-called BEAST. This defense may expose bugs in Brocade hardware. Brocade is working on the issue. The lighttpd project fixed a compatibility issue at version 1.4.27 and newer.

In addition, we would like to thank Sławomir Błażek and Aki Helin of OUSPG for working with us in the development cycle and preventing bugs from ever reaching the stable channel. Various rewards were issued.

10月24日、故スティーブ・ジョブズ氏の公式伝記本「スティーブ・ジョブズ」(著:ウォルターアイザックソン、訳:井口耕二) が日本を含めて世界同時発売されましたが、電子書籍版も複数のネット書店で同日午後より発売となりました。
