米Googleは2月10日(現地時間)、世界的にインターネットの安全を考えるSafer Internet Day (インターネット安心デー)に関連し、お使いのGoogleアカウントのセキュリティ診断を2015年2月17日までに実施することにより、Googleドライブのストレージ容量が2GB追加される特典を用意しました。

アカウント経由で、セキュリティ診断を始めることができます。
この機会に、外部アプリ(Webサービス)連携認証の整理や、最近のアクティビティ確認、そして不審なアクセス痕跡がみつかった場合のパスワード変更をしておくといいかも。

• Ensures your account recovery information is current
  If we detect suspicious activity in your account, we use your recovery info to get in touch and make sure no one but you gains access.
• Lets you review recent sign-in activity
  Reviewing this lets you validate the sign-ins are coming from you and not someone who shouldn’t be using your credentials.
• Confirms the apps and devices that access some account information
  This step lets you monitor this list and remove apps and devices that don’t need access to your account any more.

米Googleは2月9日(現地時間)、Webページ表示を高速化する目的で構築された独自プロトコル「SPDY」のサポートを、2016年早期に終了すると発表しました。

IETFのHypertext Transfer Protocol Bis (httpbis) WGで策定作業中の「HTTP/2」がラストコール段階になり、標準化が近いため。
Google製Webブラウザー「Chrome 40」の次期アップデートより、段階的にHTTP/2をサポートをはじめ、移行する計画とのこと。

米Bloomberg報道によると、Twitterは2月4日、全公開ツイートデータ提供に関するFirehose契約をGoogleと締結し、2011年に契約更新終了でいったんなくなったGoogle検索でのツイートリアルタイム検索がまた可能になるそうです。Googleでは2015年前半を目標に開発を進めているとのこと。

追記：5月19日、モバイル検索結果にツイートが含まれるようになったと発表。
Google検索の結果にツイートが表示されるのは、iOS/Android端末でのGoogleアプリとモバイルWebブラウザー上のGoogle検索で、今後、他国やデスクトップ環境向けでも利用できるようになるそうです。
