NYタイムズスクウェアの新年カウントダウンにiPhoneで参加

今年もあと僅かですが、米NY・タイムズスクウェアで毎年開催されている世界的に有名な新年カウントダウンイベントを楽しめるiPhone/iPod touch向けアプリ「Times Square Official New Year’s Eve Ball App – 2011」（無料）がリリースされています。アプリサイトによるとAndroidアプリもあるようです。

カウントダウンクロック (デフォルトタイムゾーン: ニューヨーク GMT-5) 表示や、現地ライブ中継 (Livestream) の視聴、メッセージカード送信などを行えます。

アプリの設定により、日本 (東京 GMT+9) などにタイムゾーンを切り替えることも可能。また、TwitterやFacebook、Foursquareといったソーシャルサービス連携に対応しています。

また、アプリから写真を投稿すると、タイムズ・スクウェアのToshiba Vision画面にあなたの写真が映るかもしれないというおもしろそうなイベントとも連動。

東芝による日本語サイトやTwitterアカウントも開設され、チカラはいってます。

ニューヨーク1月1日0:00は、日本時間でいうと1日昼過ぎの14:00になりますので、ゆったりしながらイベントを楽しめますね(*’-‘)。
