What's new 1.4.9 (2010-10-23)

  • Better compability with Apple's latest java update and new policy for java install locations
  • Fix bug which made GlimmerBlocker fail to launch on 10.6 systems which have not installed the previous 2 java updates

What's New 1.4.8 (2010-10-22)

  • Better compability with Apple's latest java update and new policy for java install locations

What's 1.4.7 (2010-07-26)

  • Workaround for invalid http response headers sent from some of the Akamai servers which Apple uses for their site. This made the Apple site hang for some requests. Reported by Daniel Greve Rose et.al.
  • Opening the System Preferences Panel is now faster when you have filters with a huge number of rules.
  • Accept "200 OK" in addition to "204 No content" and "201 Created" when publishing an filter using WebDav?. Reported by Cornelius Wilkening.
  • Does't add the keyword filter by default as Safari 5 doesn't work well with keywords due to address-bar history search.
  • "application/javascript" is added to the mime-types which is considered javascripts (had application/x-javascript and text/javascript and text/ecmascript)

What's new 1.4.5 (2010-05-02)

  • Use ISO-8859-1 when transforming html pages that are "encoded" using GB1232 as most GB1232 pages are really encoded by something like GBK, and 8859 is transparent although the 16-bit chars are not recognizable inside JS. Suggestion by Fingster Kevin.
  • Optional boolean unwrapNoscript arg to gb.zapScriptElements(). Suggested by Kyle McKay.
  • Fix gb.insertAtHeadStart() which inserted at body end. Reported by Bonsai.
  • Change default for new subscriptions to allow modification of content. Most 3rd party filters require modification of content.
  • Improve the list of blocked ports in CONNECT by adding 666x ports from WebKit.
  • Allow port 83 in CONNECT. Suggested by David Edmondson.

What's new 1.4.4 (2010-01-16)

  • Added workaround for QuickTime player publish to MobileMe Gallery: it can't handle receiving the http response before it has sent all of the request data. Reported by Ian McCall.
  • Improvements to YouTube movie download: better handling of Safari's lack of support for characterset in download filenames.
  • Workaround for bug in squid/2.6.STABLE16 which sends invalid http headers: Vary: Accept-Language,\r\r\nAccept-Encoding. Reported by Thorsten Deppner.
  • Better compability with Monolingual and other system utilities which trim application size by removing translations and PowerPC code. The code signature is no longer required to be valid.
  • Enable request rules to modify non-proxy requests. If no request rule matches, and it's not an admin request, a simple 404 is returned. This enables GB to be used as simple web-server for e.g. PAC scripts. By request of Paul Edens.
  • Separate prefpanelicon.png no longer needed as the System Preferences app can use the bundle icns file. Problem with using 32*32 icon reported by Rudro Rana Biswas.
  • Misc improvements to logging and debugging support.
