オランダのGPSカーナビシステムメーカーTomTomが、オープンソースでロイヤルティーフリーの位置情報参照技術「OpenLR」を発表しました。
OpenLRは、交通情報システム・動的ルートガイド向け技術で、静的な道路情報、交通量や天候などの動的情報などの位置データをいろいろ組み合わせて利用（コラボレーション）しやすくなるというもの。

なお、このOpenLR技術は9月21日から開催されるITS World Congress 2009でお披露目されるそうです。
